welcoming Þverfellshorn

finally, after much long behind-the-scenes discussion, might we now officially announce the news that the mighty Þverfellshorn [thverfellshorn], solo project of luke payne from the incredible wild dogs in winter, is now part of the decorative stamp family. it has arguably been on the cards for some time, and how we are now thusly making this information entirely official.

whilst wild dogs in winter span the fragile distances between post-rock, shoegaze and electronica, Þverfellshorn is an even more gentle excursion into where the music falls away into beautiful tender, droning slumbers. warm synths meet hypnotic guitars as distant voices and field recordings merge together to create such dream-like passages.

should you not already be familiar with wild dogs in winter or Þverfellshorn, be sure to click on the hyperlinks to wander off onto a brief journey of discovery via their online sites, and to whet the appetite for the upcoming decorative stamp release, be sure to download yourself a free copy of the first Þverfellshorn ep, entitled 'bedroom recordings', right here.

onwards and upwards then

a band of buriers - long dead

do take a few moments of your time to watching this rather stunning video of a band of buriers performing their marvelous song 'long dead' live onstage at la lune des pirates, shot on their monstrously successful 'chew and howl tour' from but a moon or so ago...

possibly shot by the outrageously talented elise de brouwer, or possibly by pierre the motionless or perhaps the mighty roma, the video is another masterful example of the kind of work which the buriers are up to lately... and do very much see this as a taster towards a whole raft of new songs which are in the process of being recorded as we speak.

and don't forget to bookmark the buriers website too, for all the latest developments

murmur breeze - foreshore reverie

after much long toil in darkest seclusion, and after much long speculation, might we finally officially announce that the new murmur breeze album shall be upon us much sooner rather than later. their follow-up to 'bird irony' is frankly epic in scale, taking in nineteen songs of spiraling surrealist alt-rap, displaying both james p honey and abSUrd at the height of their powers. do not sleep when this vast beast stirs in the coming few weeks.

entitled 'foreshore reverie', and featuring a host of collaborators, the album is awash with a staggering amount of wonderful musical turns and closely cut lyrical observations, deftly maneuvering between the bitingly satirical and the wildly theatrical. auxiliary musical accompaniment comes in the form of performances from jamie romain, michael rea and nadia d'alò, whilst extra lyrical turns are taken by the mighty mildew, babel fishh and jamesreindeer, and the whole album carefully guided through the mixing stages by jamesreindeer.

available initially as a super-limited edition hand-crafted gatefold cd package, lovingly constructed by abSUrd, james p honey, jamesreindeer and the raindrop watchers, featuring a host of additional treats neatly tucked inside, to be followed by a highly deluxe vinyl edition once a few more pennies have found their way towards the cause.

stay tuned for even more specifics. but know that the operative word is soon.
